Electrical Design Engineer based in Watford – basic salary up to £45k

A skilled Electrical Design Engineer is urgently needed in North London by my client – a well known main contractor in the rail sector.

My client is a national service provider delivering £200 million of added value infrastructure services in the utilities, rail and renewable energy markets. They provide dynamic solutions to blue chip clients throughout the United Kingdom.

Working in the rail sector on various exciting projects and reporting to the CAD Technician you will be expected to;

- Undertake general measurement surveys of site as required and proposing likely works to the wider construction team for discussion and agreement

- Liaise with AutoCAD technicians in the production of drawings- Produce accurate designers risk assessments using a wide variety of forms

- Maintain a full understanding of commercial aspects of the project and ensure appropriate cost control measures

Requirements:

- An electrical engineer experienced in the design and detail of electrical solutions.

- A degree in electrical engineering

- An ability to work as part of an integral part of the design team and undertake instructions from the Electrical Design Manager

- Ideally a membership of a professional Engineering Institution

The Role

A challenging diverse role where you will be involved in the initial meeting with clients, putting together quotations, orgainsing sub contractors, internal electricians and executing multiple projects. The role is not your usual Project Management role since it’s diverse and extremely challenging thus your working day will fly by!!

The Person

We need an experienced Electrician with City Guilds 2391 or similar skills whose moved on into management. The organisational ability to manage projects from start to finish and strong client interaction skills. Candidates with quotation experience or Contracts Management may have an advantage. This is a long term position, our client is still growing and need loyal staff to move forward. At this present time work is being refused until an additional manager is found.
