A market leading food-manufacturing company based in London is seeking an experienced Shift production manager for either the 6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm shifts Monday – Friday.

The Role:

To take responsibility for the continuous development, improvement and overall management of the am or pm production shift providing pro-active leadership with the key objective of ensuring the daily production plan is met with due regard to a consistent customer focussed culture of producing high quality products on time, every time. To pro-actively manage production through the efficient and effective delegation, direction and deployment of all resources available.

The Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Technical management team, ensures the application of prescribed hygiene standards and procedures within his/her team are maintained.

Overviews and ensures compliance to product specification and that all relevant paperwork is completed accurately.

Initiates actions to identify and address problem areas.

Provides overall management and co-ordination of the daily production plan, reviews the plan via the Planning Department and is responsible for its achievement.

Takes action to achieve and improve throughputs providing the management team with proposals, suggestions and ideas with which to continue to force down the costs of manufacturing and recognise continuous improvement initiatives for all areas under his/her control.

Ensures that all materials are used in correct rotation and with the minimum waste

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills both verbal and written to enable succinct report writing, presentations, active participation in meetings/audits and good general communication with groups, individual staff, customers and suppliers. Able to “sell” company visions and strategy passionately to customers, teams and individuals, but who is prepared to listen and concede their position if a better solution is found and will tenaciously support the new way forward

You

Ideally educated to degree level with substantial and extensive production management experience preferably gained within food manufacturing or similar environments. Appropriate qualifications to demonstrate continuing professional development and competence within this field and able to demonstrable evidence of own professional development.

Experienced manager at a senior level, with at least 10 years production management experience including substantial experience as a “lead” production manager
