The team will concentrate on patients with Haematological disorders including cancers. The in-patients are within a 31 bedded unit of which 14 beds are isolation cubicles.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;&#9;The team consists of the following posts:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• 1.0 band 7 Occupational Therapist&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• 1.0 band 6 Physiotherapist (part of respiratory rotation)&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• 0.6 band 6 Speech and Language Therapist&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• 1.0 band 3 Rehab Assistant&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;&#9;The team will be managed by a Head of Physiotherapy to help ensure the service as a whole is fully evaluated with each profession having support from the relevant clinical lead. We expect publications from this service particularly as it is so innovative.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;&#9;The main aims of the team will be to:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• Reduce length of stay by maintaining optimum functional performance and fitness particularly during Bone Marrow Transplants and by tight discharge planning&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• To minimise the impact of fatigue&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• To reduce and manage and anxiety or depression&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• Ensure patients have symptoms minimised or treated quickly – e.g. swallowing problems due to mouth ulceration&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• Ensure patients are discharged to their preferred place&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• To work with Specialist Medicine on the Improving Flow Project&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• To increase expertise and input to other haematology patients&lt;br /&gt;&#10;• To scope need of input for out-patients and set up relevant service&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;&#9;Band 6 Physiotherapist – 37.5 hours per week&lt;br /&gt;&#10;We are looking for a physio with experience in a wide range of junior rotations with a particular interest in respiratory care so we are inviting applications from &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;HPC&lt;/span&gt;-registered physiotherapists with critical care and chronic respiratory experience.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;&#9;The in-patient respiratory team is facilitated by 3 Clinical Lead Physiotherapists. You will receive a very high standard of training and gain a wealth of experience.
